American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
