The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Attacked Military Soldiers to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Community Response

Community members assembled over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event led the administration to halt asylum applications and halt issuing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” he addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
