The Two Fatalities Revealed in the Providence Campus Attack as Authorities Continue Manhunt for Gunman.

Two students who lost their lives in the recent tragic incident at Brown University had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their killer continued following the release by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was remembered as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

She served as second-in-command of Brown’s chapter of the College Republicans organization, the group said. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted words of sorrow online, stating: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”

An International Student

The other person killed was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, family members said.

His name was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a memorial statement.

Details of the Attack

Nine more persons were hurt in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Law enforcement reported late Sunday that a man aged 24 arrested in a search at a hotel about 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“There is a killer at large,” said the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and go in another, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last day or so.”

Ongoing Concerns

The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, admitted: “This will probably generate new worry for our community”.

The gunman began shooting inside a lecture hall in the engineering facility on over the weekend, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm pistol, a law enforcement official told the news agency.

Police that raided the lodging recovered two handguns and magazines when the person of interest was detained, as was reported.

Condition of the Injured

Among those wounded, one student was allowed to go home, said Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. An additional seven were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, police said on Sunday.

An educational institution, a independent school in the city of Durham, said a recent graduate, Kendall Turner, was among those critically wounded.
